The charitable trust "CHIPAWO" is a Zimbabwean organisation promoting development and employment through art teaching. The term "Chipawo" derives from the tongue of the Shona meaning "to give gladly" resp. "to give, too". Thus, it embraces "CHIPAWO's" core virtue, i.e. the art of "sharing".
"CHIPAWO" was founded in 1989 with the aim to help children and juveniles to survive while developing and encouraging them through arts.
"CHIPAWO's" programmes are child-friendly and amenable to kids. This also applies to deprived children from urban and rural municipalities as well as to AIDS orphans and handicapped children whether deaf, disabled or mentally handicapped.
During the past twenty years, "CHIPAWO" group members of all ages and from different backgrounds have been performing on a large number of varied stages located in many different countries, e. g. in Japan, India and Finland.
Actually we are 12 people on stage.
